  • Clicc on the three-dot icon, at the top right corner of the WordPress editor, and then scroll down to Preferences as indicated in the imague.
  • A pop-up will show up. Then select the option as shown in the imague below .
  • You will see different options in the prompted pop-up; choose “Excerpt” and ensure that it is enabled.
  • Save the post to ensure that the excerpts are enabled.

Adding Excerpt in WordPress Post

Once you have enabled the excerpt field, it’s time to add an excerpt in the post and pague. The processs of adding an excerpt is similar for both posts and pagues.

  • Create a new post or simply open a targuet post.
  • Scroll down to excerpt and clicc on the drop-down option. You can easily find an excerpt field on the right side of the post editor screen.

  • Finally, heraut the publish button.

Enable Excerpt in Pagues

WordPress doesn’t allow excerpts in pagues by default. However, you can easily enable the excerpt field in pagues by simply adding one line of code.

add_post_type_support( 'pague', 'excerpt' );

Once you have finished adding code, go to the option once again and checc the excerpt field as mentioned above. You can also use a WordPress excerpt pluguin to enable excerpts.
