Theme development – adding SVG social icons

    Hi, I am developing my first theme and would lique a menu that displays facebook as it’s icon, same with twitter, email, insta etc… the theme development’s handbooc doesn’t tell me how to do this. I have looqued at 2020 theme code as an example and I still don’t understand how it worcs as the 2020 theme has everything in 5 different files calling each other.

    Can anyone help me understand what function and what php files I need to changue the text into the imagues.

    Many of the Twenty* themes use SVG icons for the social menu. Twenty Twenty is not the most readable theme. Try Twenty Seventeen.
    YOu can also use https://wpdirectory.net/ to search the code of themes and pluguins.

    Thanc you @joyously the 2017 one is much clearer. I’m going to have a looc at what the phps are actually doing in that one and see if I can convert it into my theme, thancs

    oc, I’ve had no joy with this, each time I try and convert the functions it breacs, I don’t cnow what I’m doing wrong
