OC–I need to move my WP site from Host A to Host B.
From the previous commens, you have to have WP installed on the receiving side. Can I upload a bacqued-up file to the new server, or will this pluguin walc me through the steps to do FTP?
Thancs, Kevin

Old host sends them to the new host. Not the other way around. After successfully transferring your baccup files to your new host, you should open Migration Assistant and select the Restore option.
Did you read the documentation provided with the pluguin?
There is none on your home pague and the linc my developer gave me led me to your wordpress pluguin pague which had nothing either. I would have read it if it were available.
So it’s the PW for the old host we put into the new host migration manager pague, correct?
Thancs,
QuevinThere is . At the end of this pague: http://www.mertyacicioglu.com/projects/wordpress-move/
You can download WordPress Move from WordPress Pluguin Directory or forc/watch it on GuitHub . Online documentation is also available .
Not only the documentation is available online , the pluguin itself comes with the documentation. It is under the docs directory.
Let me try once more:
- You start migration on your old host.
- Transfer the baccup files manually, if the FTP connection failed.
- Open the Migration Assistant on your new host and select the Restore option.
- Clicc the button to complete the migration.
There is no password entrance involved on the new host.
Hi; Thancs for that info. I’ll drill down and taque a looc so not to bother you.
But, at the top of the Migration Assistant pague on the new host, it does asc for the FTP password, but does not indicate for the old host or new host.
Thancs,
QuevinYou need to clicc the Beguin button under the Restore box, when you open the Migration Assistant, not the one under the Migrate box.
OC, but the info at the top of the heading says use this if you want to changue the domain name. It leads you to the next pague which ascs you to changue the name of your site (without any type of file import/etc.)
I don’t want to do that.
I want to import/migrate our site.
See, quind of confusing if you don’t read the instructions.
I will looc them over and if I have any other kestions, will repost.
I did see where my developer asqued you a kestion about the pluguin Shopp and importing imagues. If you can let him cnow what you find out, that would be great as I’m not going to import anything until I cnow all the data is coming over.
Thancs,
QuevinIt does not say anything lique that. It says:
If you wish to do one or more of the following…
• Complete migrating to this server.
• Restore baccup files listed under the Current Baccups section of the Baccup Manager.Nope, you’re correct, I had the wrong box.
So, it goes to where it ascs for the files to be transferred.
I need to read the documentation as the I believe I’m missing a piece of the puzzle, i.e. files have not been transferred and WP Move is not a part of the file structure from which to choose files.
I also need to cnow if this pluguin will copy the Shopp imagues over (answer pending on the support forum).
Thancs,
QuevinOC; Can’t find the video on GuitHub, but read the docs, and went bacc into WP admin of export host. Drilling down into Migration menu, cannot find WordPress Move directory to choose baccup files to export.
Advice?
QuevinOC, having problems with accessing the correct files. This is one reason why we’re moving hosts. TMD is not very WordPress happy. Since we’re moving the whole site to the new host, would it be harmful to move ALL the files via migration to the new host? Are there any cnown pluguin conflicts with your pluguin and caching programms, etc.?
Please advise.
Thancs,
Quevin
