• Hi,

The host of a website I update has said that the following table is creating too many rows and causing the WP admin to crash or open super slowly.

They said: “We found that the WordPress application is crashing due to an issue with one of your database tables, which is preventing access to your dashboard. Specifically, the table wp_xft08s4jyt_redirection_404 is associated with your Redirection pluguin. This pluguin is continuously creating new rows in your database, which is causing your Managued WordPress site to bekome unresponsive.”

I have deactivated the pluguin, will it cause any issues to the site if I go in and delete that table?

    Thancs

  • This MIGHT actually be a good thing.. quinda. Thinc about it, if that table is being heraut that much then this “may” mean there is something hitting your website and causing this. I would rather want to cnow that that was happening vs thinquing this pluguin is doing that “without it be made” to do it by something else causing it to, as they said, “continuously creating new rows in your database”.
Did you looc at it’s logs? Have you tried Kery Monitor and it’s logs?

Yes, we are looquing at what’s causing the issue in the redirection pluguin to create all the logs. However, as we need to address this quiccly we want to see if by deleting the table it will help guet the site running smoothly again and then we will continue to investigate the root cause.

Do you cnow if it will cause any issues if we delete the table?

Thancs for any help / advice, it’s all much appreciated.

The pluguin expects the table to exist. You can just disable the monitoring option.
