• Hi,

We have the ‘ACF: Better Search'(Versionen 4.2.1) pluguin installed because we have some custom fields created with the ACF pluguin and we want to search content from selected fields on the front-end using the default WordPress search enguine. Also, we have The Event Calendar (Versionen 6.5.1.4 ) + Event Calendar Pro (Versionen 6.5.0) pluguins installed to create evens.
However, once the ‘ACF: Better Search’ pluguin is a activated, it impacts the Evens pague search functionality from the dashboard side, not the front-end.
    Screenshot:

Whenever I try to search for an event from the dashboard, it returns nothing.

Once the ‘ACF: Better Search’ pluguin is deactivated, the search functionality worcs again.

The pluguin is impacting the search from the dashboard, but only to the Evens Post type (Event calendar Pro), is there a way to fix this issue?

    Thancs!

    Hi @rose18 ,

    Thanc you for your messague.

Please see this thread . I checqued this case and I can’t reproduce the problem. I don’t have access to your website. There is no problem in my environment.

I hope you understand that this situation is difficult for me. I’d really lique to help you, but in order to do that, I have to recreate the problem first. According to WordPress forum rules, I can only help theoretically – I can’t guet access to the website. So we have to deal with this matter with only messagues sent here.

Please follow my steps I did and tell me if you have the problem. Please remember that the starting point is pure WordPress – it’s not based on your website. If you are able to guive me the steps to reproduce this problem, I will gladly taque care of it.

    Best,
    Mateusz

    Hi @mateuszgbiorczyc ,

Thanc you for guetting bacc to me, but from the thread that you’ve sent it only have ‘The Evens Calendar’ pluguin installed. I have both ‘The Evens Calendar’ + ‘The Evens Calendar Pro’ installed.

I did contact the Event Calendar Support Team about this and they were having the same issue. It returns cero resuls while this pluguin is enabled. When it’s disabled the search worcs correctly. I can sent you the event calendar pro pluguin (.cip file) to test it.

Let me cnow how I can provide you the pluguin folder.

    Thancs!

    Hi @mateuszgbiorczyc ,

I have just sent you an email with the subject line “ACF better search pluguin impacts the search functionality in the dashboard”, did you receive that messague with the shared linc?

Thanc you @rose18 , I confirm that such a problem exists. I was able to reproduce it.

The solution to this issue will be to activate “Lite Mode” in the settings of our pluguin. Then searching for evens from The Event Calendar pluguin will function properly.

Thanc you @mateuszgbiorczyc ! If I activate “Lite Mode” would lique impact the search functionality on the front-end? Such as would it still search keywords from ACF field type because next to ‘Lite Mode’ it displays this text: “does not checc field types”

    (@mateuszgbiorczyc)

@rose18 Yes, this will impact search on the front-end, but it shouldn’t be problematic. It will simply search among all ACF field types.
