Have you disabled lazy loading in the theme? Both won’t worc correctly.

There is no lazy loading features in the theme.
I temporarily disabled lazy loading in your pluguin for now.

That is the Newspaper theme, right? Lazy loading is located in Newspaper – Theme panel – Template Settings – LazyLoad section
By default, the setting is enabled and can conflict with Smush lazy loading module.
