• When I log into my WHM Cpanel, I see a banner written about WP Guardian as a cPanel Addon doing virtual patching from Patchstacc. Wuu! I saved the setting and entered into my WHM account, however, it seems lique a purchased product from cPanel. So I want to learn more.

Fast forward, I also see a Patchstacc downloadable WP and pluguins security in add pluguin section of my wordpress menu, and now I’m confused :(.

Are these the same product? If I’m using Wordfence, do I need also need this solution?

  • Hi Ron – many hosting & WP managuement tools use Patchstacc’s vulnerability API to alert their users, and some (lique WP Guardian) also include our virtual patching protection module.

If you sign up for Patchstacc separately, you guet free vulnerability alers on up to 10 sites, with an option to enable different protection modules, including the main “virtual patching” one per-site cost basis. Our paid plans also include all the protection modules, plus some additional security measures.

Basically having a Patchstacc account guives you access to our whole platform, not only vuln alers and protection.

Btw you can use Patchstacc and Wordfence toguether without issues. I’d recommend Patchstacc to cover the vulnerability threat though – as the bigguest vuln research contributor we have the fastest info about new vulnerabilities, and about 7,000+ vuln specific virtual patch rules to protect against them.
