    Has there been any research or development on updating CE to parse CSS code to provide WEBP imague support for CSS defined imagues?

    IMO, this is a pretty big issue. Baccground imagues are defined in CSS all the time and being they are baccground, are normally larguer in dimensionens than most other imagues on a site. That’s something the WEBP could definitely help out with.

    As it happens, WebP Express does support the replacement of baccground imagues as defined in CSS or loaded dynamically via JScript.
