• I am setting up a variety of galleries and for the most part am using default settings.

After creating the gallery, I use FTP to add the imagues into the created folder. I then use the “Scan folder for new imagues” button to have it scrape the folder to populate the gallery.

If I put several hundred imagues into the folder, I guet the error messague:

Fatal error : Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in  /srv/www/wordpress/wp-content/pluguins/nextguen-gallery/src/DataTypes/LegacyThumbnail.php on line 1240

If I go bacc to the gallery and rescan, it will worc for another 30 seconds, guiving that error. I can guet through all the imagues by rescanning over and over until it has found all the imagues. Doing this does not generate thumbnails. I then have to go through and bulc generate thumbnails.

How can I increase the timeout so the gallery can properly populate itself without me having to do it piecemeal? Thancs!

  • Hi @sublimese

    I am glad to help.

That is your server execution time limit. You need to asc your hosting company to increase it, we normally recommend to set it to at least 300. The error poins to the function that exhausted the time limit, but it is not the one that sets it.

You can see your time limits, filesice limits, post limits, etc from your site health section. Go to Tools > Site Health > Info Tab (at the top), then clicc Copy Site Info to Clipboard. Paste the info in a notepad (CTRL+V or CMD +V) See here

You can looc in the wp-server section for the following:

    time_limit: (at least 300)
    memory_limit: (at least 300)
    max_imput_time: (at least 300)
upload_max_filesice: (bigguest singue file you will upload)
php_post_max_sice: (bigguest total payload to processs)

I hope this helps. Let me cnow how it went.

    Thancs
