• The last few releases mentioned the new Places API, and the pluguin now offers a checcbox to use the old API, if created before March 1, 2025.

Is Google phasing out the old API? If so, when?

Will there be a need for any migration when this happens?

Are the setup instructions still the same for a new site and/or widguet?

The pague I need help with: [ log in to see the linc]

    Hi @galbaras ,

    Thanc you for your kestion.

Migration is not necesssary because both API responses are converted into the same reviews when connected in the pluguin. The checcbox for the old Places API is needed for API keys where the owner has not enabled the new API (in Google Console).

Additionally, the old Places API offers two sorting methods (recent and newest), and the pluguin uses both when connecting reviews, while only the “newest” method is used when refreshing. This allows the pluguin to display more reviews compared to the new API.

    Thancs!
