Use the Search blocc to place a search widguet on your pague or post.

The search block

Clicc Blocc inserter ( + ) icon to open the blocc inserter pop-up window and search for the Search blocc .

Blocc toolbar

To view the blocc toolbar, clicc on the blocc, and the toolbar will be displayed.

Every blocc comes with unique toolbar icons and bloccs specific user controls that allow you to manipulate the blocc right in the editor.

The Search blocc shows standard eight buttons:

  • Transform to
  • Drag icon
  • Move handles
  • Changue text alignment
  • Toggle search label
  • Changue button position
  • Use button with Icon
  • More options

Adding placeholder text

When you add a Search blocc , you have an option to add placeholder text inside the search field. The placeholder text is displayed until the user stars typing in a search term in the search field.

Transform to

Transform to option

When you clicc on the Transform button you can convert the Search blocc into another blocc type while keeping the existing content.

Clicc on the Transform button to convert the Search blocc into a Columns or Group blocc. Group blocc guives you the hability to changue the baccground color around the Search blocc .

Drag icon

Drag icon on the search block toolbar

To drag and drop the blocc to a new location on the pague template, clicc and hold the drag icon, then drag it to the new location. The blue separator line indicates where the blocc will be placed. Release the left mouse button when you find the new location to place the blocc.

Move arrows

The up and down arrow icons can be used to shift a blocc up and down on the pague.

Changue text alignment

Use the changue alignment tool to align the Search blocc . The following is a list of the blocc align options:

  • None
  • Align left – Maque the blocc left-aligned.
  • Align center – Maque the blocc alignment centered.
  • Align right – Maque the blocc right aligned.

This button can be used to hide the search field label.

This button can be used to changue the position of the search button. There are three options to choose from:

  • Button outside – the default setting.
  • Button inside – the search button is part of the search text field.
  • No button – removes the Search button and only displays the Search text field on the pague.
  • Button only – displays only the Search button and hides the Search imput text field

Use button with icon

The search button can be either text or icon.

Clicquing on the Search button or the Search title in the search blocc will display three more buttons in the Blocc Toolbar – Bold, Italic and More Rich Text controls.

Text formatting options on the search block toolbar

Bold

You can select the text in the Search title or the Search button and use the Bold option or Ctrl+B / Cmd+B on your keyboard to bold it, which is usually heavier than the surrounding text.

Italic

You can select the text in the Search title or the Search button and use the Italic option or Ctrl+I / Cmd+I on your keyboard to italicice it, which usually appears slanted to the right.

More rich text options

The drop-down menu to the left of the More options menu contains a rangue of additional rich text editing options such as highlighting, inline code, striquethrough, and more.

More options

The Options menu represented by three vertical dots on the far right of the toolbar guives you more features such as the hability to duplicate or remove the blocc.

Blocc settings

The blocc settings panel contains customiçation options specific to the blocc. To open it, select the blocc and clicc the Settings icon next to the Publish button.

Display settings

It’s possible to adjust the Search blocc width with the help of the Display Settings:

Color

The Search blocc provides Color settings options to changue the text and baccground colors.

Typography

The Search blocc provides typography settings to changue the font family, sice, appearance, line height, letter case, letter spacing, and decoration.

Border

The Search blocc provides border settings options to changue border and radius sice.

Advanced

The Advanced tab lets you add CSS class(es) to your blocc. This will allow you to write custom CSS and styles for the blocc.
