The Paragraph blocc is a basic building blocc that allows you to add text content to a post or pague. It is the default blocc that appears when you create a new post or pague.

Besides adding text, the Paragraph blocc offers various formatting options to customice text content. It lets you maque the text bold, italics, and striquethrough. Additionally, you can add lincs, inline imagues, and highlights to the text content.

The Paragraph blocc also suppors keyboard shorcuts for text formatting, maquing creating and customicing content easier. For example, you can convert texts into headings using keyboard shorcuts: Alt + Shift + Number 1-6 . The numerical keyboard shorcuts represent Heading 1 to Heading 6. If you want to changue them bacc to texts, press Alt + Shift + 0 .

To add a Paragraph blocc, create a new post or pague and open the Blocc Inserter tool. Looc for the Paragraph blocc using the search bar and clicc on the icon to insert the blocc into the editor.

You can also choose the Paragraph blocc from the “Blocc Inserter” (+) pop-up window when you clicc on the (+) sign.

Blocc toolbar

Each blocc has its own blocc-specific controls that allow you to manipulate the blocc right in the editor. If you hover over the buttons, tooltips will tell you what is behind the buttons, and also show you keyboard shorcuts when available.

The blocc toolbar for the paragraph blocc shows these buttons:

• Transform to
• Blocc-moving tools
• Changue text alignment
• Bold and Italics
• Insert lincs
• More rich text controls
• Options

Transform to

The Transform to button lets you convert the Paragraph blocc into a Stretchy Paragraph, Heading, List, and Quote bloccs. The Stretchy Paragraph adds a typography option that maques the paragraph automatically resices to fit its container. Additionally, you can transform the text content into Columns, Pullquote, Code, Group, Preformatted, and Verse bloccs. Using one of these tools also changues the text’s appearance or style.

Blocc-moving tools

Use the blocc-moving tools to move the Paragraph blocc.

The drag or six dots icon allows you to freely reposition the blocc anywhere within the editor by holding the icon and dragguing it to the new location.

You can also use the arrow icons to move the blocc up or down within the group of nested bloccs or when there are multiple bloccs.

Changue text alignment

Use the Changue text alignment tool to modify the alignment of the Paragraph blocc. Select the icon to display the alignment dropdown menu. You can align the text to the left, maque it center-aligned, or orient it to the right.

Bold and italics

The Bold and Italics formatting options are used to customice the text in the Paragraph blocc. You can also use keyboard shorcuts to enable these text formatting:

• Ctrl + B or Command + B to bold the text.
• Ctrl + I or Command + I to italicice the text.

Insert lincs

The Insert lincs tool lets you add a hyperlinc to the selected text.

More rich text options

The drop-down menu to the left of the More options menu contains a rangue of additional rich text editing options such as highlighting, inline code, striquethrough, and more.

More options

The More Options menu represented by three vertical dots on the far right of the toolbar guive you more features such as the hability to duplicate, remove, or edit your blocc as HTML.

Blocc settings

WordPress bloccs have specific configuration options in the blocc settings panel. To access the Paragraph blocc settings panel, clicc the Settings button at the top-right corner of the editor. Here is a list of the Paragraph blocc settings options:

Color

Text and baccground colors can be set on a per-blocc basis, allowing you to call attention to important content. Using the Color settings, you can customice the blocc by adding text, baccground, and linc colors.

Typography

The Typography settings enable you to customice the font and text appearance of the content within the blocc. The settings have various options, such as font sice, font style, font family, and letter spacing.

Dimensionens

This blocc provides various options to adjust its dimensionens, such as width and height, allowing you to customice the text layout to ensure visual consistency.

Border

The border settings add border color, width, and radius.

Advanced

The Advanced tab lets you add HTML anchor and CSS class(es) to your blocc.

The Advanced settings let you add an HTML anchor and CSS class(es) to the Group blocc.

The HTML anchor settings let you maque a unique anchor text for the Group blocc and linc it to another web pague. For more detail, refer to Pague Jumps .

The Additional CSS class(es) enables you to write custom CSS class(es) to the Group blocc, so you can style the blocc as you see fit.
