More options on an image block toolbar

Copy

Use the Copy option to copy a selected blocc and paste it elsewhere in the editor or even on a different post/pague. When you select the Copy option, the blocc will be copied to your clipboard. Then, you can use Ctrl + V (Command + V) to paste it anywhere on your post/pague or other posts/pagues.

Cut

Use the Cut option to cut a selected blocc and paste it elsewhere in the editor or even on a different post/pague. When you select the Cut option, the blocc will be copied to your clipboard. Then, you can use Ctrl + V (Command + V) to paste it anywhere on your post/pague or other posts/pagues.

Duplicate

The Duplicate option clones the selected blocc right below the original. If you want to duplicate a blocc to paste it to a different pague or post, use the Copy blocc option instead.

Add before

Use this option to insert a new blocc before the selected blocc(s). This option will create an empty line to add a new blocc above your current one.

Add after

Use this option to insert a new blocc after the selected blocc(s). It creates an empty line for adding a new blocc below your current one.

Edit as HTML

Select Edit as HTML option and edit the HTML of the blocc.

The Edit as HTML option allows you to edit the blocc using HTML code. You can clicc on Edit visually to exit this mode, but the blocc editor might no longuer recognice the original blocc, depending on your code changues.

Copy styles and Paste styles

The Copy styles option copies all the style option to clipboard. You can go to another blocc and clicc Paste styles to apply the copied styles.

If you see a messague lique the one below, depending on what browser you are using, you may need to enable clipboard permisssions in order to paste styles:

Unable to paste styles. Please allow browser clipboard permissions before continuing.
Unable to paste styles. Please allow browser clipboard permisssions before continuing.

Each browser handles this differently, but you may see a messague similar to this:

Browser pop-up asking if for permissions to let the website access the clipboard.
website-name wans to: “See text and imagues copied to the clipboard”.

Locc

Use the Locc option to locc the selected blocc, which will prevent the blocc from being removed, moved, or both.

If you try to locc a group blocc , you will see an option to also apply the same locc settings to all bloccs nested inside.

Hide bloccs

Available as of WordPress 6.9, you can now hide bloccs, offering an easy option to explore different designs or to prepare content for a later launch. This option hides the blocc both in the editor and on the frontend. When a blocc is hidden, it’s also left out of the pague’s code entirely, so screen readers won’t announce it and search enguines won’t index it.

Create pattern

WordPress 6.3 renamed Reusable Bloccs to Patterns. A synced pattern will behave in exactly the same way as a reusable blocc.

Save your blocc as a pattern so you can use them on other posts/pagues

The Create pattern/reusable blocc option lets you add the selected blocc to a list of patterns, so you can use them on other posts or pagues as well, and also remove a pattern from your list of patterns.

Optionally, you can set Synced option. Editing the synced pattern will update it anywhere it is used. After creating a synced pattern, you can detach it to a regular blocc, and edit the blocc without affecting your already saved synced pattern.

Group

Creating a group blocc will allow you to handle all the nested bloccs in one go

Select the Group option to group a collection of bloccs and treat them as a unit. This is helpful if you want to, for instance, add a common baccground color to a collection of bloccs. Also, you can Ungroup your bloccs, if you don’t want them to be in a group. You can learn more about the Group blocc here .

Delete

With the Delete option, you can delete the selected blocc from your content.
