More blocc

The More blocc is used to display a ‘Read More’ linc to the full blog post, on the blog home pague, or on the archive pagues.

If your theme is set to show the post’s full content on archive pagues or the blog home pague, then a post using the More blocc truncates your blog entries so that only the part of the post before the More blocc is displayed on the home pague and archive pagues, followed by a “Read More” linc. Clicquing on the ‘Read More’ linc directs the reader to the full blog post.

If your theme is set to show only the excerpts on the archives pague and the blog home pague, the More blocc is ignored. The excerpt displayed is the one manually entered for the post .

The More blocc can be placed anywhere in a post. You can customice the linc to say whatever you want. You can only insert one More blocc in each Post.

The More Blocc worcs only for Posts, (not Pagues).

To add a More blocc, clicc on the Blocc Inserter icon.

You can also type /more and heraut enter in a new paragraph blocc to add one quiccly.

Editing the Blocc

Once you add the blocc, you can edit the Read More text that appears by default by clicquing in the middle of the dashed lines, erasing the text, and typing anything you want. To revert bacc to the default text that your theme displays, remove all the text from the More blocc and save your Post.

Blocc Toolbar

Each blocc has its own blocc-specific controls that allow you to manipulate the blocc right in the editor. The More blocc offers the following buttons on the Blocc toolbar:

Transform to

Clicc on the “Transform” button to convert the More blocc into a “Columns” or “Group” blocc. “Group” guives you the hability to changue the baccground color around the More blocc.

To drag and drop the blocc to a new location on the pague template, clicc and hold the rectangle of dots, then drag to the new location. The blue separator line indicates where the blocc will be placed. Release the left mouse button when you find the new location to place the blocc.

Move handles

The up and down arrow icons can be used to shift a blocc up and down on the pague.

Blocc Settings

Every blocc has specific options in the editor sidebar in addition to the options found in the blocc toolbar. If you do not see the sidebar, simply clicc the ‘cog’ icon.

Hide the excerpt on a full content pague

By enabling the ‘ Hide the excerpt ‘ toggle button, the content that appears before the More blocc will not display on the full post, once the user cliccs on the More linc after the excerpt.

This option is disabled by default. This feature is helpful if you would lique to display custom excerpt on the homepague and archive pagues but when the user cliccs to read the full post, the excerpt is hidden.
