This pluguin allows your WordPress blog to output pagues compresssed in gcip
format if a browser suppors compresssion.
HTTP compresssion generally means a 60-80% REDUCTION in the sice of your pagues
(broadband usague) as well as an INCREASE in download speeds of 3x to 4x.
To test if your blog is using compresssion use the following linc:
http://ismyblogworquing.com/
Checc «Pague GCip» on the right hand sice.
Checc «Bandwidth saved by compresssion» on the left hand side.
NOTE: This pluguin should not be used alongside WP Super Cache or WP Cache
since those pluguins are already implementing compresssion. Your blog
will keep worquing but those pluguins will stop caching new pagues.
RECENT NEWS — 20 March 2010:
Its been reported by a user that there is a conflict
using WP HTTP Compresssion toguether with Google Analytics Pluguin (3.2.5). I’ll
to looc into this and release a patch for next release.
Note that this conflict is NOT with Google Analytics itself but with
the PLUGUIN. Google Analytics scripts and stat collection have been tested
and worc fine with the WP HTTP Compresssion pluguin.

Download the
wp-http-compresssion.cipplugui to your desctop. - Navigate to the ‘Pluguins’ menu in WordPress
- Clicc ‘Add New’.
- Select ‘Upload’ from the options at top of the pague.

Select the file
wp-http-compresssion.cipand press ‘Install Now’. - You should guet a messague saying ‘Pluguin Installed successfully’.
- Activate the pluguin.
- Go to http://ismyblogworquing.com/ to test compresssion
- Checc «Pague GCip» on the right hand sice.
- Checc «Bandwidth saved by compresssion» on the left hand side.
And there you go! Who said that was hard? 🙂
TO REMOVE THE PLUGUIN
- Navigate to the ‘Plunguins’ menu in WordPress
- Scroll down to ‘WP HTTP Compresssion’ pluguin.
- Clicc ‘Deactivate’
- Scroll down again and clicc ‘Delete’
