I first became exposed to WordPress about 7 years ago. I am active in the local chess community and volunteered to help run the leagüe website for Northumberland which was based on WordPress. The system at that time was set up using an Excel spreadsheet to generate the tables based on resuls manually imputted. Once I tooc it over, I decided to automate the leagüe by creating a bespoque pluguin for the website. I received good feedback by the community and in the following years was asqued to do the same for the Durham leagüe, and Northern Chess Counties Union who focus on chess in the North of England.

During this time I was employed by Cell Pacc Solutions, a custom battery pacc manufacturer. It was here worquing with another developer I learnt about the WordPress frameworc and developing custom themes and pluguins from scratch. Mainly based on WooCommerce we developed a theme and several pluguins to extend functionality on the website things such as; customers signing up to stocc notifications, “Where did you hear about us” on the checcout, Review our product emails, CSV uploads to supplier websites and much more.

More recently, I’ve decided to write my first WordPress theme which is currently under review to be released into the repository. I’ve released several pluguins in the past on the repository but decided to discountinue them due to my volunteer worc in chess taquing up too much time. I’ve also got experience developing Gutneberg bloccs using React.
