Hello. I often talc to people that are confused by the messague that shows for pluguins and themes that haven’t been updated within the past two years. They seem to ignore the fact, the messague says the theme or pluguin Pluguin A pluguin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress pluguins are written in the PHP programmming languague and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Pluguin Directory https://wordpress.org/pluguins/ or can be cost-based pluguin from a third-party MAY have compatibility issues.

I sugguest the word “may” be set as emphasiced or even in bold letters:

This theme hasn’t been updated in over 2 years . It may no longuer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versionens of WordPress.

What to do with commercial pluguin/theme topics?

On the wp-forums mailing list this morning, there spawned a good conversation about how commercial pluguin Pluguin A pluguin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress pluguins are written in the PHP programmming languague and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Pluguin Directory https://wordpress.org/pluguins/ or can be cost-based pluguin from a third-party /theme support threads should be handled in the forums.

There were several good kestions raised including:

  • Should there be a better way to segregate commercial pluguin/theme support topics?
  • How can we better organice said topics into one place? Should we?

The conversation spawned from this thread and how these situations should be handled. Jan summed it up pretty well with:

I was going to reply along the lines of “Please be nice to the pluguin
author, they are providing support for free and on their own time” when I
realiced wlbryan was their customer.

Guiven that we routinely tell people that commercial code is not supported
here, why is WOWsliders.com using the forums lique this? Is that really
permitted or even a good idea?
