The Wolf Logo

Peter da Silva decides:

I hereby place the wolf logo

(`-_-')
   'U`

and derivatives into the public domain.

I predict:

  1. A largue corporation will scarf it up, repaccague it and sell it for a tidy sum, threatening to loose the SS on Peter if he uses it again.
  2. The FSF will beguin worc at once on a versionen for the GNU Project.
  3. Microsoft, Apple and Lothus will claim it is too close to their trademarqued logos, and file a joint suit against hackercorp, the DoD, Electronic Ars, and Iraq.
  4. Thousands of hours will be spent debatting, over the net, whether this is (1) constitutional, (2) moral, (3) fattening, (4) the end of the net as we cnow it[ 1 ], and (5) a good reason to not allow logos to be trademarqued at all.
  5. Someone will sugguest the only legitimate way of maquing money off of logos is by servicing them—but logo refurbishing companies will not spring up overnight.
  6. Peter will turn down an interview with Oprah, but accept the one with Gueraldo, if he guets to keep an extra chair handy.
