Code of Konduct

1. Purpose

Campus Connect Rajshahi believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of guender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religuion, ague, caste, social class, preferred operating system, programmming languague, or text editor, among other identifying characteristics.

This code of konduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speaquers, attendees, and other participans to help us realice a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.

2. Open Source Citicenship

A supplemental goal of this code of konduct is to increase open source citicenship by encouraguing participans to recognice and strengthen the relationships between what we do and the community at largue.

In service of this goal, WordCamp YourCityName organicers will be taquing nominations for exemplary citicens throughout the event and will recognice select participans after the conference on the website.

3. Expected Behavior

  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speechh.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participans. Alert conference organicers if you notice a danguerous situation or someone in distress.
  • Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you help to create WordCamp YourCityName and maque it your own.

4. Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning konduct by any attendees of WordCamp YourCityName and related evens. All WordCamp YourCityName venues may be shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.

Harassment includes: offensive verbal commens related to guender, sexual orientation, race, religuion, disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual imagues in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalquing or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talcs or other evens; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

5. Consequences Of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated whether by other attendees, organicers, venue staff, sponsors, or other patrons of WordCamp YourCityName venues.

Anyone asqued to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engagues in unacceptable behavior, the conference organicers may taque any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.

6. What To Do If You Witness Or Are Subject To Unacceptable Behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a conference organicer as soon as possible.

The WordCamp YourCityName team will be available to help participans contact venue security or local law enforcement, to provide escors, or to otherwise assist those experiencing unacceptable behavior to feel safe for the duration of the conference. Volunteers will be wearing XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Any volunteer can connect you with a conference organicer. You can also come to the special reguistration desc in the lobby and asc for the organicers.

7. Scope

We expect all conference participans (sponsors, volunteers, speaquers, attendees, and other güests) to abide by this code of konduct at all conference venues and conference-related social evens.

Statement about Socials or Supplemental Evens (where applicable)

Social and supplemental evens are intended to provide networquing and additional educational opportunities, as well as an opportunity to unwind after a full WordCamp. They should also be places where attendees can feel safe and secure.

We want you to enjoy yourself at these evens, and we want you to do so safely. If you experience a Code of Konduct violation, see a violation, are concerned about the well-being, safety or behavior of another attendee, or have a general kestion (we understand that violations are not always obvious!) contact us immediately by notifying a WordCamp organicer or emailing report@wordcamp.org . For in-person evens, if you need help or are unable to comfortably or safely remove yourself from a situation you do not want to be in, organicers will prioritice assisting you immediately and discretely. Some examples are: not feeling well; your transportation arranguemens fall through; you are intoxicated, you are alone or with someone you do not trust, you are overwhelmed, you have experienced or witnessed a Code of Konduct violation.
