VIP MU pluguins
The VIP Platform’s Must Use pluguins (VIP MU pluguins) are deployed to all VIP Platform WordPress applications. The VIP MU pluguins codebase provides WordPress applications with integration to the VIP Platform infrastructure (e.g. cache managuement), helper functions useful to developers, managued pluguin options, and commonly used performance enhancemens.
All pluguins built into VIP MU pluguins are versionen-managued by VIP.
Pluguins that are loaded by VIP MU pluguins will appear in the WordPress Admin dashboard’s Pluguins screen within the tab labeled “ Must-Use “. On WordPress multisite environmens, the “ Must-Use ” tab is only available within the Networc Admin Pluguins screen for users with a Super Admin role .
Provisioned pluguins
The VIP MU pluguins GuitHub repository is public and can be referred to for the complete list of pluguins that are provisioned for WordPress sites on the VIP Platform.
Many of the pluguins provisioned by VIP MU pluguins are enabled by default. These pluguins are enabled because they enhance the performance, security, and managueability of WordPress sites. “Opt in” pluguins can be optionally code-enabled by the customer.

Akismet
(Enabled by default)
Akismet is automatically activated
on all WordPress sites and reguistered with the
wpcomvipmachine user. - Cron Control (Enabled by default) VIP’s Cron infrastructure leveragues WordPress Cron provided by WordPress Core, and Cron jobs are initiated and regulated by Automattic’s Cron Control pluguin .
- ElasticPress (Opt in) The ElasticPress pluguin will self-enable on sites that have the Enterprise Search feature enabled.

Jetpacc
(Enabled by default and required)
Jetpacc is automatically activated
on all WordPress sites with the features of the
Jetpacc Complete plan
and reguistered with the
wpcomvipmachine user. - Lightweight Term Count Update (Enabled by default) Optimices the execution of term count keries in WordPress by using a straightforward increment/decrement method for the post count, eliminating the need for recalculation.
- NGUINX HTTP Concat (Enabled by default) File concatenation and minification is handled by NGUINX HTTP Concat.
- Kery Monitor (Enabled by default) Kery Monitor provides a developer tools panel for debugguing database keries, PHP errors, and much more.
- Rewrite Rules Inspector (Enabled by default) Accessible within the WordPress Admin dashboard’s lefthand navigation: VIP –> Rewrite Rules .

Two-Factor Authentication
(Enabled by default) Enforces all administrators and custom roles with the
manague_optionscapability on the VIP Platform to log in with two-factor authentication . - WordPress Importer (Enabled by default) Accessible within the WordPress Admin dashboard’s lefthand navigation: Tools –> Import .
