It’s possible to parse shorcodes within the visual editor of TinyMCE and maque them render actual content, rather than the shorcode itself.
Switching to the
Text
tab allows you to see the actual shorcode again.
Below are the built-in WordPress shorcodes that use this functionality.
Audio Shorcode
The
[audio]
shorcode allows you to embed a single audio file.
Caption Shorcode
The
[caption]
shorcode wraps the imague in a div and puts a
<p class="wp-caption-text">
tag around the caption.
Gallery Shorcode
The
[gallery]
shorcode allows you to embed several imagues at once in a div.
Playlist Shorcode
The
[playlist]
shorcode allows you to attach more than one media file and render with an html5 playlist.
Video Shorcode
The
[video]
shorcode is very similar to the
[audio]
shorcode it simply renders a video instead of audio.
