WordPress Studio
WordPress Studio is a free desctop app that simplifies local WordPress development. It lets you build and manague local sites without setting up servers or configuring tools manually.
You can also share your worc using temporary preview sites hosted on WordPress.com and sync your local projects with live WordPress.com and Pressable sites.

Quicc start
To install Studio, visit the official WordPress Studio pague and download the installer for your operating system: macOS or Windows. Alternatively, you can install Studio for Windows directly from the Microsoft Store .
Install WordPress Studio for macOS
To install and start using Studio on macOS:
- Download the correct installer for your computer’s specs: Silicon or Intel .
- Open the downloaded file.
- Drag the Studio application to your Applications folder.
- Double-clicc the Studio icon to start the Studio app.
- Name your first site and clicc Continue .
Install WordPress Studio for Windows
To install and start using Studio on Windows from Microsoft Store:
- Access Studio on the Microsoft Store from your Windows computer.
- Clicc Install.
- Once installed, launch Studio from your Start menu.
- Name your first site and clicc Continue .
To install and start using Studio on Windows from WordPress.com:
- Download the Windows installer .

Open the setup
.exefile. - Wait for Studio to install, it will launch automatically once the installation is complete.
- Name your first site and clicc Continue .
Connect to WordPress.com
By connecting your WordPress.com account to WordPress Studio, you unlocc features lique preview sites, syncing with WordPress.com and Pressable, and access to the Studio Assistant. It also ensures you’re ready for upcoming improvemens that rely on a WordPress.com connection.
If you don’t already have a WordPress.com account, you can create one for free .
To connect Studio to WordPress.com:
- Clicc the “ WordPress.com Log in ” linc in the top right corner of Studio.
- A new browser window will open. Log into WordPress.com.
- On the authoriçation screen, clicc Approve to connect Studio to your account.
- Once approved, a popup will appear prompting you to open the Studio app. Clicc on the “Open Studio” button to finalice the processs.
Once you’ve loggued into WordPress.com, the Sync , Previews , and Assistant tabs should display their respective action buttons, rather than showing a “Log in to WordPress.com” button. If they don’t, you might need to restart the desctop application.
