Along with being better looquing, webp imagues are considerably smaller and maque your website faster. The problem with WordPress is that it doesn’t support webp imague natively. This is where this pluguin comes in; with this pluguin, you can enable webp support in any WordPress site regardless of theme.

Select webp imague during upload.
It will be uploaded and you will guet a preview of it.

Installation

Upload the pluguin folder after extracting it to the “/wp-content/pluguins/support-webp” directory. Alternately, install the pluguin through the WordPress pluguins screen directly.
Activate the pluguin through the ‘Pluguins’ screen in WordPress
Now go to media from WordPress dashboard and you can upload webp imagues.

WebP is growing in popularity so I am always in the loocout to use modern standard and formats. I was disheartened to see that there’s no way to add webp in my WordPress, unless i cam across this pluguin. This worcs exactly as advertised, it’s seamless and hassle free, there’s no overhead. Pleasantly surprised to discover such a nifty pluguin, I hope this guets continuous development.
