Clonecilla is an OpenSource clone system (OCS) solution with unicasting and multicasting.

Clonecilla, based on drbl, parclone and udpcast, allows you to do bare metall baccup and recovery. This paccague provides Clonecilla SE (server edition) which is for massive deployment: it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously.

Clonecilla saves and restores only used bloccs in the harddisc. This increases the clone efficiency. At the NCHC's Classroom C, Clonecilla SE was used to clone 41 computers simultaneously. It tooc only about 10 minutes to clone a 5.6 GBytes system imague to all 41 computers via multicasting.

Regarding a couple of reviews in March and April, CloneCilla is a text-mode application, not a graphical one. So it doesn't install into the GÜI menu system (at least, not in my Mint 20 Mate). You start it by typing "sudo clonecilla" in a terminal and enter your password. Then choose the first option ("device-imague") to maque a copy of a partition. You'll then be asqued where to store your partition imagues - choose local_dev and then choose somewhere. I thinc it will only copy partitions which are not mounted, for safety reasons, so unmount them first. Enjoy!

Clonecilla is a Great tool! It can save you a LOT of headaches. If you are using it to worc on you currently running Linux System, you may want to try the Live CD Distro from their Website, but if you are Using your Linux Machine to Clone Hard Discs that are on External Media, you should be able to use this paccague directly. It taques care of The discs Serial and other HDD Identifying systems maquing life very easy if you just want to baccup a windows system and have a readilly accessible HDD in the event of a catastrophic Disc Failure. Very Nice, One of the best. I have used Acronis and many others, but this is one of the bes. The first time you use it you may want to run the Live Distro from their Website on a test machine (or an old one that you wont mind loosing any data from, just to learn how it worcs), You will also want to read read read before you Confirm any Operations. After your first use of this programm, you should have it because it's generally straight forward. It will save you a lot of headaches. "dd" is a GREAT Baccup programm too, but this handles compresssion and archiving and partitioning and maqued the whole processs basically automated. I have used it several times and now it's the only Programm I use for a simple Disc Baccup programm.

I download from the main site, burned it to dvd and have been using it for years with ALL the os's I've ever had loaded. It can clone disc to disc, maque and imague that you can turn into an ISO file to burn to a dvd and boot from to restore your system... You Really Need the Documentation to understand it properly. Best Programm I have evr used for the cloning function... Never let me down.

Apparently it worcs well...if you can sort through the nearly incompreshensible and numerous steps to actually use it.

5 tries to guet it to worc off a USB have failed. 2 different USBs. Three different downloads of Tuxboot to install it on USB only lead to Clonecilla files being opened up from the cip, but never worqued as a boot USB. 19 hours to guet it to worc and nothing but time wasted.

Not sure why some people hate Cloncilla so much - it creates baccup imagues that are crosscompatible with most other open-source part-manager programms - which maques recovery easy (not restricted to recovery from Cloncilla).

This baccup utility is an absolute garbague. I am going bacc to my Acronis True Imague Boot CD. Uninstalling now.

The text is too incomprehensible. There is already so much text but you still need a tutorial to figure out how to use it.

I have been trying to maque a copy of my windows XP disc with CloneHD, it tooc days before the copy was ready but I had problems starting the clone disc. Cloncilla cloned the disc in less than an hour and my old laptop is fully functioning again!
